CARRIER

Usually means Steamship Company, but can also refer to trucking company, airline, or railroad as transporter of cargo. In the original carriage of goods by Sea Act 1924, the word "carrier" is defined as the owner or the character or whoever enters into a sort of contract with the Shippers for teh transportation of goods. Ships as "carriers" are classified as follows: (a) Bulk Carriers (b) Colliers (c) Tankers (d) Ore/ Bulk/Oil Carriers (e) Ultra Large Crude Carrier (f) Very Large Crude Carriers ( g) Barge Carrying Ships.
