Time in hours spent at berths and jetties. Berth occupancy rate is generally arrived at by dividing the time ( in hours) spent by ships at berth / jettu by total berth / jetty hours available during the month ( year). Figures can be multiplied by 100 to arrive at the occupancy percentage. For arriving at such figures time spent in dredging and misc. maintenance is deducted.
